Becoming Catholic

Interested in Becoming Catholic?
We invite you to our RCIA classes!

thumb Easter Vigil 2018

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an exploration of the Deposit of Faith which Jesus Christ brought to fulfillment,  and the Church holds and cherishes, in earthen vessels. For those drawn to these Truths, it is also a process of bringing into the Catholic Church both those who have never been baptized (Catechumens) and those who were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian faith community (Candidates for Full Communion).

Each year in September, St. John Neumann begins a new RCIA class, and we invite everyone to participate who feel their faith journey is leading them to the Catholic Church, or who are curious to understand the teachings and customs of Catholic Christianity. We meet weekly to attend the Liturgy of the Word followed by a topic related lesson.
The RCIA process is much more than a series of classes one must take before joining the Catholic Church. It is a rich and grace-filled journey in which one encounters and walks with Jesus Christ and learns how to follow him in a new and deeper way. There is no personal obstacle that can prevent you from this Faith journey.

For those who have never been baptized, this process will culminate in Baptism at the Easter Vigil in April. Those who are already baptized will be received into full communion with the Catholic Church by a Profession of Faith at this same time. The newly baptized adults and those who make their profession of faith will then all be Confirmed and share in the Holy Eucharist for the first time that same evening.

We invite you to join us on our walk with Christ-no obligation!
