Father John was ordained by Bishop Peter Jugis at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in 2004. His first assignment was at St. Vincent de Paul Church, where he served as a parochial vicar for two years. Then, he served as a parochial vicar at Our Lady of Grace Church in Greensboro for a year. Father John became the pastor of St. James the Greater Parish in Hamlet and Sacred Heart Mission in Wadesboro in 2008. Before joining SJN, he served as a pastor at St. Francis of Assisi.
Father Peter Pham was born on the 10th of April, 1963 in Saigon, Vietnam. He received the call to priesthood on 30th of April, 1975 during the fall of Saigon and the end of Vietnam war. He left Vietnam as boat people in 1987 and spent a year in Thailand and the Phillippines. In 1989, he attended St. Joseph Seminary College in Convington, LA and later went to St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA. He was ordained as a Deacon ini April 1997 at St. Vincent Seminary by Bishop Curlin. on the 6th of June of 1998, he was ordained as a Priest by Bishop Curlin at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He has served at St. Michael's in Gastonia; St. Vincent de Paul in Charlotte; St. Francis of Assisi in Lenoir; St. Joseph's in Charlotte and now at St. John Neumann in Charlotte as Priest In Residence in Pastoral care only. His hobbies include reading, gardening, swimming and traveling.
