Benita Bryson Faith Formation Secretary
Benita joined the Faith Formation staff september 2000 after 5 years of volunteer work in the office. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Office Administration. Benita and her husband, Jim, have two adult children who went through the St. John Neumann Faith Formation Program. Benita enjoys working with the families and staff at SJN and watching the children as they travel through their faith journeys.
Cassandra Wolljung Confirmation Coordinator
We would like to welcome Cassandra Wolljung to our Faith Formation Staff! Cassandra has been a parishioner here at SJN since her childhood. She and her husband Joseph recently welcomed their son Luke to the world. Cassandra has volunteered as a catechist and a chaperone on a youth mission trip to Haiti. She is continually looking to respond to the Holy Spirit working in her life.
Kelly Flowers Director of Faith Formation
Kelly Flowers has been the Director of Faith Formation since 2018. Prior to working here at her home parish, she served here as a volunteer catechist and also has ten years of experience as an elementary school teacher in both public and parochial schools. Kelly holds her Master of Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and her undergraduate degree in Marketing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. A Northern Virginia native, Kelly has lived in Charlotte for 8 years but it feels like home since she also lived here in Charlotte for four years as a child. She has two children, Noel and Anthony, and loves to bike and cook with them. She enjoys keeping in touch with her parents and brothers who keep her up to date on the Washington Nationals Major League Baseball team. In addition to spending time with her family, Kelly loves adult coloring books, pondering the New Evangelization over extra hot coffee, and all things Mary.
Jose Figueroa Faith Formation Program Assistant Jose joined our staff in September of 2016. He started his ministry as a volunteer during Totus Tuus and the Summer Camp of 2015. He then joined us as a catehchist for 2nd grade and RCIC1. He enjoys spending his free time with his many neices and nephews and helping out with children's ministry.Meg VanGoethem-Stasko Youth and Young Adult Minister
Meg joined our staff in July of 2014. She grew up in Crystal Lake Illinois, and was an active member of her youth group at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Meg graduated with a degree in catechetics and theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville, where she was a member of Regina Angelorum household, FOP music ministries, Missionary Outreach, and EDGE middle school ministries. She has a passion for relational ministry and for working with teens, and is thrilled to be a part of the Faith Formation team at St. John Neumann. Meg married her husband, Tyler, in September of 2017. In October or 2017, she and Tyler added Chewy, a Husky German Shepherd puppy, into their family, and in August of 2018 they welcomed their first daughter, Ari Rae. In her free time Meg enjoys spending time with her family, and enjoying the outdoors.
