Baptism: Baptism is a beautiful sacrament celebrating new life in God’s family. Requirements: Parents and Godparents must take a Baptismal Preparation Class. Children over the age of 7 must do a complete year of Faith Formation before receiving the Sacrament.

Confirmation: Confirmation is the sacrament by which the gifts of the Holy spirit, first given in Baptism, are strengthened. Like Baptism and the Eucharist, it is a sacrament of initiation into the church and of faith in God’s unending fidelity to us. Confirmation is a three year preparation here at Saint John Neumann that starts in 6th grade. Please register with Faith Formation to get started. For information call the FF Office at 704.535.4197

Eucharist: The Eucharist is the source and summit of our lives as Catholics. We celebrate the Eucharist every day. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9:00 am. Wednesdays at 6:00 pm. Fridays at 6:30 am. Saturday Vigil at 5:00 pm. and Sundays at 8:00 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm (Spanish) and 5:00 pm. Call the Parish Office or check the bulletin for information on Mass times for Holy Days. Preparation to receive First Communion typically begins in 1st grade and is a two year process. For preparation for First Communion please see the Faith Formation page.

Reconciliation: The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession, penance) is an expression of God’s forgiveness of our sins that reconciles us with God and with our community. We celebrate this Sacrament each Wednesday starting at 6:30 pm, each Saturday at 4:00 pm until 4:30 pm and by appointment. Holy Matrimony: Marriage celebrates the love of a couple who enter into a covenant with God and with one another. Preparation usually begins six months before the wedding. Anointing of the Sick: Through this Sacrament we pray for healing. It’s appropriate to seek this sacrament for any serious illness, physical or mental, or upcoming surgery. Please contact the Parish Office at 704.536.6520 for information.

RCIA: For adults (18+ or done with high school). The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is an exploration of the Deposit of Faith which Jesus Christ brought to fulfillment, and the Church holds and cherishes, in earthen vessels. For those drawn to these Truths, it is also a process of bringing into the Catholic Church both those who have never been baptized (Catechumens), those who were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian faith community (Candidates for Full Communion), and even those who have been baptized yet need to receive their sacraments of Initiation. Catholic Schools: For information of Catholic schools please log onto www.macs-schools.com Remember to schedule an appointment with Father John to sign the Parish Voucher form. Have your Parish ID Number (number on your weekly envelopes) on hand when contacting the Office to set up an appointment. Contact the Parish Office for further questions.

Quinceanera: The young lady wishing to receive her Quinceanera must have received ALL of her Sacraments of Initiation prior to the date of her Quinceanera Mass. This includes Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation. No exceptions. Please contact the Parish Office to inquire about a date NO MORE than 6 MONTHS in advance. Upon confirmation that the Church is available please bring a copy of the Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation certificates to the office as well as half of the total payment. We do not “hold” the space. A Quinceanera prep class is also to be taken within the weeks leading up to the date. For further questions please contact the Parish Office.

Hospitalized/Homebound Parish Members: Call the Parish Office to receive Anointing of the Sick or Communion.

New Parish Members: New to our parish? Complete a registration form as soon as possible. Registration is required for enrollment in Faith Formation, sponsorship certificates, godparent certificates and MACS school vouchers. Forms are in the Gathering Area.
